Matching the right strain with your intention is key because each mushroom strain feels slightly different.

In fact, we are discovering through experience that—similar to cannabis—some strains are more heady while others get you more into your body. And in this way some strains are more Indica-like while others are more Sativa-like—with the rest being rather hybrid-like.

For instance, I find Stropharia and Golden Teacher to be very Indica-like (aka body focused) in that they calm my nerves, release tension in my body, and feel very calming and relaxing—which is why these are my favorite strains for relaxation and to use as a sleep-aid. That’s why I generally work with these calming strains in the evening or when I’m doing healing work (like during a massage or reiki session).

Sativa-like strains (aka more heady strains) feel very awakening, uplifting, and energizing. These are my favorite daytime strains for micro/intentional dosing. And these are the strains I work with as an alcohol replacement when socializing.

The sativa-like strains are great for rebuilding our brain and neuro-pathways, brainstorming, and elevating our perspective.

We created this starter pack so you can experiment with each type (aka a sativa, indica and hybrid-like strains) and so you can easily have one of each type in your personal apothecary kit.

It’s important for everyone to understand their unique base dose (microdose) range to support your personal needs and tolerance. You know it’s your base dose (microdose) if you don’t feel any psychoactive effects or feel altered in any way. To find your unique base dose (microdose) start by taking 1 spiritual vitamin. 45-60 minutes after taking it—Pause and focus on your breath to get centered. Then see if you feel expanded or different in any way. If you feel the effects, take less to achieve your base dose, if you don’t feel the effects take one more supplement the next time you dose so you are aware of your maximum base dose tolerance.
